"Those who feed on Christ in the Eucharist need not wait until the hereafter to receive eternal life; they already posses it on earth, as the first-fruits of a future fullness which will embrace man totality."

— Saint Pope John Paul II -2003

St. John the Apostle

More than any other Apostle, John invites us in his Gospel to abide in Christ. His writings direct us toward a lived reality of what it means to love Christ Himself with a real tangible love. This beloved apostle knew what it meant to abide in Christ, and he tells us all how to do it in his Gospel and Epistles.

Eternal Life is to Know the Father.

St. Philomena

Though she faced suffering, persecution, and death at a young age, her heart remained fixed on Him. Her courage came from trust. Her strength came from love. And her peace came from the presence of Christ within her.

“Peace be with you” is more than a greeting. It is the living fruit of a soul that abides in Him.

Peace Be With You Tee

St. Benedict

Benedict teaches us that our Cross in life becomes our Light, that our actions toward sacrifice and turning from sin will light the way of our spiritual journey, directing us to abide in Christ. Even though stopping sin is challenging, it can be done with devotion.

One prayer at a time.
One sacrifice at a time.

Saint Therese

In a world that pressures us to be perform, St. Thérèse discovered the freedom of being small for God.

Her "Little Way" was built on this truth: we do not become holy through our own strength, but by trusting completely in the love of God. Like a child resting in the arms of a loving Father, she chose surrender over striving.

The Saints Show Us How To Abide

The Saints allowed Christ's Life to shape their suffering, their choices, their desires, and all their daily actions. Each of these saints reveals a different way of abiding in Him.

Christ can be present in every moment of our lives if we desire Him to, here and now. We do not have to trudge through each day relying on willpower alone, trying to avoid sin while waiting to meet Him only after death. To abide means receiving all that Christ desires to give us today, and love Christ like the Saints.

As we reject sin, make a firm amendment of life, and remain close to Him through Baptism, Penance, and the Eucharist, Christ begins to transform us in ways we could never accomplish on our own. He brings real light and purpose into our days, heals the wounds beneath our sins, and through our surrender, He gradually but quickly frees us from the desires that once ruled us.

Over time, His Life begins to bear fruit through ours. It is Christ within us, working through us, who brings this mission to life.
