Totus Tuus was the great Marian motto of Saint John Paul II, drawn from the spirituality of Saint Louis de Montfort. It expressed his complete entrustment to Jesus through Mary: I am totally yours, and all that I have is yours. For John Paul II, devotion to Our Lady was never meant to stop with Mary. Her entire life points beyond herself toward her Son.
This design places Mary beneath the Cross at Calvary, where her yes to God reached one of its deepest moments. Beside her stands the distinctive crucifix so closely associated with Saint John Paul II, connecting his beloved Totus Tuus to the woman whose own life was completely given to Christ. Mary stands at the Cross with nothing held back, showing us what total trust and faithfulness look like.
