Saint Gianna was a physician, wife, and mother whose Catholic faith shaped every part of her life. She cared deeply for her patients, loved her family, and understood both motherhood and medicine as ways of serving God. When a dangerous pregnancy placed her own health at serious risk, Gianna courageously sought to protect the life of her unborn child, accepting the uncertainty and sacrifice that decision would bring.
Her words, “Whatever God wants,” capture the trust that marked her entire life. They were not words of passivity, but of confidence that even when the road ahead was difficult, she could place herself and those she loved into God’s hands. Saint Gianna remains a beautiful witness to the dignity of human life, the vocation of motherhood, and a love willing to give generously for another.
