Abide in Me, and I in You
The goal for the Christian life is not simply waiting to receive Eternal Life after we die one day. When we become a disciple of Christ, Eternal Life begins in us here and now.
By Abiding in Christ, we begin to live that Life in Christ by taking up our cross, by surrendering the wounded and disordered desires that lead us into sin.
When we make this offering of ourselves to God in the Mass, we receive His Life in the Eucharist, and allowing our will to align with His Holy Will.
Salvation is not simply about “getting to Heaven one day.” Jesus came to save us from our sin and bring us into union with God here in this life now, so we can be free from sin and begin living His Life now. Eternal Life is not merely something waiting for us after death.
Eternal Life begins today.
